Alaigai Oivathillai - In prep for Mani Ratnam’s Kadal - remember these young ones in their first film in the 80s.
Kollywood supporting Kamal - good to see everyone helping Kamal on this Viswaroopam fiasco.
Viswaroopam verdict postponed again until 6th February. Watch this speech by Kamal today - we need to support him! This situation has politics written all over it! Ridiculous. TN government - why don’t you ban rubbish like Podaa Podi where the male character goes around teaching “women a lesson” as he is a “Patchai Tamilian”. These kind of films are really not helping society evolve.
David comes to London this week. Not sure which one to see first - David or Kadal…it’s a very difficult decision.
Moongil Thottham from Kadal - what a song. A few more days until Mani Ratnam’s latest creation. Cannot wait.
Making of “Unnai Kannatha” video from Kamal’s Viswaroopam.
Sanjay Dutt as Saamy!
Am really not sure about Sanjay Dutt (despite liking him) doing Vikram’s role in Saamy but hey it might be come out great. Abhishek would have been a better choice.
Singam 2 - first look posters
Looking forward to this one - the ultimate masala we all love.
Vishwaroopam - worth the wait
So many reviews out there so won’t go on but you have to watch it in the cinema (preferably a large screen with great sound). It’s a completely commercial offering from Kamal but presented beautifully. The boy has done well.
Maaveeran (1986) - Othungu Othungu sung by the late Malaysia Vasudevan. This was Rajini’s home production and not one of my favourite films but has some good songs. It was set in pre-independence India but just lacked a tight script and tried to do too many things in my opinion! However one of my younger brother’s fav Rajini films - even now he goes on about this one.
Baasha (1995) - Baasha Paaru. Rajini’s alter-ego’s introduction in Baasha - you cannot get any more Rajini than this film. One of my top 10 favourites!
Rajathi Raja (1988) - Enkitha Mothathe #rajinikanth #rajini100
The Review Raja does Rajini…this is classic….summa athirudu
Rajini does a surprise appearance at Kumki’s audio release. Kumki is the launch film for Sivaji Ganeshan’s grandson Vikram Prabhu.
Raajathi Raja - as a kid I watched this a zillions - double role for Rajini. One as millionaire and one as fearful farmer along with Radha and Nadiya as heroines respectively. Comedy from start to finish with usual Rajini-ness! This is the opening song.
